2015 CI@UT Summer Camp

2015 Summer Camp hosted by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville


The Confucius Institute at the University of Tennessee (CI@UT) is excited to announce a summer camp program.  The camp is co-hosted by CI@UT and its partner university in China, Southeast University.  It is sponsored by the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban).

The 12-day summer camp will take place from June 15, 2015 to June 27, 2015. Participants will be immersed in a variety of activities including language study, hands-on workshop, social activities with local Chinese students, excursions to places with culture and historical significance. Please read the more detailed description of the program. Confucius Institute Headquarters will cover those expenses that are included in the official summer camp program during the official summer camp program days, including accommodation, meals, domestic transportation, courses and excursions. In other words, students will be responsible for other expenses in China such as extra stays in China before or after the official summer camp program.  Participants are expected to cover international airfare, Chinese visa application fee and personal spending.

All students who participate in this summer camp should meet the following criteria:

  1. American citizen (has U.S. passport);
  2. High school students; Age between 14-18; Grades from 9-12 (those who are rising 9 graders are also eligible);
  3. Have great interests in Chinese language and culture;
  4. Healthy enough for international travel;
  5. Have willing to participate in all summer camp activities and comply with requirements
