Creative China Contest

The 1st Creative China Contest sponsored by the Confucius Institute at UT has been launched!

Rules:

  • Entries should have a focus on a creative/innovative aspect of China or Chinese culture based on your observations. The subject could be related to culture, architecture, economy or other aspects of China and Chinese culture. Write a short essay up to 500 words to describe the creative/innovative aspects of China or Chinese culture.
  • To enter the contest, submit your essay (in PDF format) to the “Creative China by CI at UTK” Facebook page, also email the entry form(Click to download) and essay to confucius@utk.edu.
  • Selected entries will be invited to give a 5-minute presentation at 5:00 – 6:00 PM on November 13th, 2017 (Monday). Final winners will be decided by a panel of judges based on both the essay and the presentation. Up to ten extra points will be added to the scores that are proportional to the number of likes received by each entry on the “Creative China by CI at UTK” Facebook page.

Entry form and essay submissions are due at 11:59pm on November 3rd, 2017.

Prize:

Three top winners will be selected and receive an Amazon gift card of:

1st Place winner: $50 value

2nd Place winner: $30 value

3rd Place winner: $25 value

Honorable mentions: CI T-shirt
