2017 CI@UT Chinese New Year Celebrations

2017 Chinese New Year is arriving on January 28th, 2017.  It’s the Year of the Rooster.  Confucius Institute will host/co-host a series of events to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year. 

Event 1: McClung Museum Family Fun Day – Celebrate New Lunar Year

Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2017

Place: McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture (1327 Circle Drive on the UT Campus)

Activities: Tours, crafts, traditional music and dance, calligraphy demonstration, and martial arts

Open to the Public, FREE Admission

 

Event 2: Chinese New Year Celebration

Time: 10:30 AM – 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 26, 2017

Place: Hallway on the second floor of UT Hodges Library (Starbucks level)

Activities: Chinese New Year posters, performances, red envelopes with real RMB inside, and Chinese food

Open to the Public, FREE Admission

 

Event 3: East Tennessee Chinese New Year Festival

Time: 3:30 – 5:30 PM, Sunday, February 5, 2017

Place: Cox Auditorium in UT Alumni Memorial Building

Activities: Stage Gala Show
